Islam & Christmas (اسلام اور کرسمس)

بسم اللہ الرحمن الرحیم

حامدا ومصلیا ومسلما !

یوم پیدائش منانے کی تاریخی اصلیت:

واقعہ یہ ہے کہ یومِ پیدائش منانے کا تصور اسلام کا نہیں بلکہ عیسائیت کا ہے عیسائی 25 دسمبر کو کرسمس کے نام سے حضرت عیسیٰ علیہ السلام کایوم پیدائش مناتی ہے۔ اس کی حقیقت بھی بڑی دلچسپ ہے اگر تاریخ کا مطالعہ کیا جائے تو معلوم ہوتا ہے کہ حضرت عیسیٰ علیہ السلام کے زندہ آسمان پر اٹھائے جانے کے تین سو سال بعد تک یوم پیدائش منانے کا کوئی تصور نہیں تھا۔ آپ کے حواریین جو آپ کے صحابہ تھے، ان میں سے کسی نے یہ دن نہیں بنایا۔ تین سو سال بعد لوگوں نے اس بدعت کا آغاز کیا اور دعویٰ کیا کہ ہم حضرت مسیح علیہ السلام کا یوم پیدائش منائیں گے۔ اس وقت دین مسیحیت پر پوری طرح عمل کرنے والے لوگوں نے جب پوچھا کہ تم نے یومِ پیدائش میں عید منانے کا سلسلہ کیوں شروع کیا ہے؟ تعلیماتِ مسیح علیہ السلام میں تو اس کا کوئی ذکر نہیں ہے۔ انھوں نے جواب میں کہا کہ اس میں حرج کیا ہے؟ اس دن ہم جمع ہوں گے، حضرت مسیح علیہ السلام کا تذکرہ کریں گے، ان کی تعلیمات لوگوں تک پہنچائیں گے، اس طرح لوگوں میں آپ کی تعلیمات کا پر چار ہوگا اور لوگوں کو مسیحیت کی طرف راغب کرنے میں مدد ملے گی۔ اس طرح کرسمس کی ابتداء ہوگئی۔ (اصلاحی خطبات)

کرسمس کی موجودہ صورتحال:

ابتداء میں تو کرسمس منانے کا طریقہ بڑا سادہ تھا پچیس دسمبر کو چرچ میں ایک اجتماع ہوتا۔ پادری صاحب کھڑے ہو کر تعلیمات مسیح علیہ السلام بیان کرتے اور آپ کی سیرت کا تذکرہ ہوتا، اس کے بعد اجتماع ختم ہو جاتا اور لوگوں کو مسیح علیہ السلام کا پیغام پہنچ جاتا یوں مجلس برخاست ہوجاتی۔

اگر دیکھا جائے تو یہ ایک معصومانہ ابتداء تھی جس میں بظاہر کسی قسم کی قباحت محسوس نہیں ہوتی لیکن وقت گذرنے کے ساتھ ساتھ جب پادریوں نے محسوس کیا کہ ہم پادری تو تقریر کرلیتے ہیں لیکن چونکہ یہ ایک خشک قسم کی تقریر ہوتی ہے لہٰذا رنگین مزاج نوجوان اور شوقین حضرات شریک نہیں ہوتے اس لیے اسکو ذرا دلچسپ ہونا چاہیئے تاکہ سب لوگ اس میں شریک ہوسکیں۔ اس کو دلچسپ بنانے کے لیے اس میں موسیقی شامل کرلی گئی چنانچہ موسیقی پر نظمیں پڑھی جانے لگیں پھر جب انہوں نے دیکھا کہ موسیقی سے بھی کام نہیں چل رہا تو اس میں ناچ گانا شامل کرلیا۔ پھر رفتہ رفتہ ہنسی مذاق اور دوسرے کھیل تماشے داخل کردیے گئے۔

کرسمس کا انجام:

آج کرسمس کے دن کا جائزہ لیں تو اس دن جو طوفان بدتمیزی بپا ہوتا ہے وہ کرسمس کے اگلے دن کے اخبارات سے معلوم کی جاسکتی ہے۔ اس ایک دن میں اتنی شراب نوشی کی جاتی ہے جو پورے سال کی شراب نوشی سے زائد ہوتی ہے۔ اس دن اتنے حادثات ہوتے ہیں جو سال بھر کے حادثات سے زیادہ ہوتے ہیں۔ اس ایک دن میں عورتوں کی عصمت دری کے اتنے واقعات ہوتے ہیں کہ پورے سال اتنا ظلم نہیں ہوتا یہ سب کچھ اس بدعت کے نام پر ہورہا ہے جو کرسمس کے نام سے مشہور ہے۔

you are agreeing that he is begotton son of God...

Na'uzubillah which is SHIRK.

Every people have their own civilization, their culture and days of celebration. Allah and His Messenger (saws) have appointed the two Eids for celebration in Islam, and have made every Friday a day of Eid and celebration for the believers. For a true believer, every day that dawns is a Sign from our Merciful Lord, and every day that Allah gives us life, can be a day of celebration for us.

There is absolutely no harm if one celebrates or congratulates one’s non-muslim friends and brethren in humanity on their personal accomplishments and happy occasions like their marriage, the birth of their baby, or their children’s graduation, or a promotion in their job, etc. But it would neither behove nor befit a believer who believes in Allah and the Last Day to greet or celebrate any of their religious occasions with them like Christmas, Easter, Diwali, Holi, etc……for that then would be to intentionally witness a falsehood.

Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 25 Surah Furqaan verse 72:

72 (The true slave-servants of Allah are) Those who witness no falsehood (intentionally), and if they pass by futility they pass by it with honorable (avoidance)

In light of the guidance of the Quran and the Sunnah, the jurors in Islam have listed four categories which would make the participation of any celebration forbidden:

The celebration should not be a pagan religious festival.

The celebration should not involve any ‘shirk’.

The celebration should not involve or encourage ‘fahisha’ or indecency or any of the things absolutely forbidden in Islam (alcohol, gambling, etc.)

The celebration should not indulge in excess spending.

The pagan beliefs and religions and thus their religious festivals are based on absolute falsehoods, and it does not behove one who sincerely believes in Allah and the Last Day as Truth to indulge in celebrations of falsehood. To greet or celebrate pagans on their pagan and religious days of festivals would be to justify their false beliefs.

Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 5 Surah Maidah verse 2 (part):

….Help ye one another in righteousness and piety, but help ye not one another in sin and rancor: fear Allah: for Allah is strict in punishment.

Sunan of Abu-Dawood Hadith 4020 Narrated by Abdullah ibn Umar

The Prophet (saws) said: ‘He who copies any people is one of them.’

Al-Tirmidhi Hadith 4649 Narrated by Abdullah ibn Amr ibn al-'As

Allah's Messenger (saws) said, "He does not belong to us who imitates other people.’

It would be absolutely forbidden for the believers who sincerely believe in Allah and the Last Day to greet or participate in any way whatsoever in the religious festivals of the pagans.

One cannot say with absolute conviction that wishing one another ‘Happy New Year’ on the 1st of January is based on a pagan religion….but without an iota of a doubt it would be absolutely forbidden for the believers to wish one’s Chrisitan brethren ‘Merry Christmas’…..for they claim and believe (and I seek refuge in Allah from even saying this!) that the Noble Messenger of Allah (saws) Isa ibn Maryam (a.s.) is the son of God and claim that he was born on this day!

If one trusts, obeys, and follows the guidance and commands of Allah and His Messenger (saws), one can be assured of never ever being misled; but if one believes, obeys and follows any other guidance, other than that of Allah and His Messenger (saws), one

can be assured of being led astray.
